Rates subject to change. Natchez Trace State Park offers campsites and five camping cabins. All sites have a table, grill, and fire ring. Other amenities, such as water and electricity, vary by campground. Pets allowed at campgrounds and stay is limited to two weeks during in season. Since most of our trips have been made in our newly acquired RV, a Winnebago Rialta. So we are acquainted with both styles of camping. Below we’ve organized our camping links according to seven regions around Lake Superior.

Apache Palms, Tempe, provides free WiFi in addition to instant phone hookups at each site. Usage beyond one hour per day incurs a fee.

Usage of both is free. Myers, and as of February 1, now offers free wireless access.

California State Parks Campgrounds Dogs are allowed in California State Parks campgrounds, but must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet and in a tent or enclosed vehicle at night. Pets are not permitted in park buildings, on trails, or on most beaches. Angeles National Forest Campgrounds Campsites are first come, first served with a maximum day stay at a site, and a total of 30 days stay per year in this Forest. The Angeles National Forest offer group campgrounds on all three of the ranger districts, some accommodating up to campers.

Dogs on a leash are allowed in the campgrounds and on the trails. Recreational Vehicles no longer than 30 feet. There are 40 campsites. There is short walk to a rocky beach from the campground. Walk along the banks of the river and among the redwoods, conifers, oaks, sycamores, cottonwoods, maples, alders and willows. A large campground accommodates hikers, bikers, car campers and RVers.

Many campsites are located along the Big Sur River. Dogs on a leash no longer than 6 feet are allowed in the developed campground and day use areas.

Some campgrounds have discriminated against us staying at their campground because our unit is too old. Anything over 10 years is consider out of date. Some of these campgrounds should take a look at what they are offering, which is not much. So far we have been very lucky at Walmart, rest areas and truck stops.

RamingtonStall Given the fact that payments can go on for 20 years, those campgrounds are idiots. Remind us not to bring our short bus! Looking forward to hearing how it works for you. I would never give business to a campground known to push for such parking bans.
